WHY USE CUSTOMIZED ORTHOTICS / INSOLES?

In our clinic we use both the Foot Levers’ high quality customized insoles (www.FootLevelers.com) as well as the more modestly priced Orthofeet Customized Insoles (http://www.orthofeet.com/).

In addition to helping with foot issues, like heel spurs and plantar fasciitis and general foot discomfort, using customized insoles to cushion and level your feet, and therefore your legs and hips, helps to align your entire spinal foundation, often alleviating stubborn, chronic, painful issues in the feet, ankles, knees, hips, low back and possibly even your mid-back and neck.

Lack of a proper arch in the foot is one example of a foot deformity that can cause the hips, which are the foundation the spine rests on, to shift. This in turn causes the spine itself to shift and develop pressure points.

Pronation is another foot problem that throws off the ankles, knees, hips and therefore the entire spine. Pronation is when the foot rolls excessively inward. This causes the knee to twist, and in turn throws off the hips and everything else above it.

Plantar fasciitis is one last example of an issue that customized orthotics can help with. By restoring the proper shape of the foot, the fascia is often able to relax and the pain and inflammation associated with it often begins to subside.

As of right now, we are using the older casting methods for measuring the contours of your feet. We are not completely sure of the digital methods, but may be switching to them down the road.
