Hi Everybody,
WOW- We all know how corrupt many large corporations seem to be. Well, it turns out that the rabbit hole goes even deeper than any of us realized.
Recent information has come to light that large corporations have been hiring shady investigative firms, run by former CIA, NSA, Military, FBI, Secret Service and local police, to go after nonprofit organizations that watch over and report illegal activities and abuses by these same corporations. The tactics being used are evidently illegal.
$$$$$$- Why would these large corporations do this? Money. Many of these non-profit organizations watch over what is being done by corporations and government agencies and report harmful or illegal activity to the general public. Obviously, these corporations do not like having their activities reported publicly, which could affect their bottom line. If the public gets mad at a company and stops buying from them, this obviously reduces profit levels.
Many of the world’s largest corporations and their trade associations have been implicated in these illegal activities, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Walmart, Monsanto, Bank of America, Dow Chemical, Kraft, Coca-Cola, Chevron, Burger King, McDonald’s, Shell, BP, BAE, Sasol, Brown & Williamson and E.ON.
WHICH NONPROFITS ARE BEING TARGETED?- There are many different types of non-profit organizations that have been targeted, including environmental groups, anti-war groups, public interest groups, consumer and food safety groups, pesticide reform groups, nursing home reform groups, gun control groups, social injustice groups, animal rights groups and arms control groups.
While you and I may not agree with some of these groups, they have as much right in America to publish their beliefs about these businesses’ activities as those businesses do of advertising. And many of these groups have, in the past, really opened our eyes to some serious corporate and government corruption and misdeeds that we would never have known about otherwise.
Hope this helps,
Dr Matt and Dr Robin
